I miss college alot, and I am still IN college.
But I got skrewed, and transfered to a community college. Still, I am scared crap less about what happens next. Its only August and I am looking around for answers.

I have to go back after two years because I got a crap degree and need training for something that pays well. Atleast I got alittle life experience, so now I can do it right and enjoy it too.

Read this article and could not agree more with it. I am currently in the process of finding a solution to this mundane corporate “next step” that society pressures most fairly educated college graduates to make.

I’m about 16 months out from college and miss it so … I still live in a frat house, so I have 1 more semester of living it up, but I miss being on campus, just everything about college.

4 years that flew by way too quickly.

I, too, have been missing college as of late. I graduated in May of 2010, and ever since then I’ve been lamenting at my matriculation from undergrad. Today I googled “I miss college” and your blog came up. I enjoyed reading this, both because of your candid, humorous writing and because we share some similar sentiments. I also miss college, my friends, and for now I also work at a bullshitingly mundane job (I plan on going to grad school later). I’m a chick, and a pretty chaste one at that, so I can’t exactly relate to your statements about meaningless sex, but the loneliness is definitely real. Anyway, thanks for writing this. I enjoyed myself. Good luck in Manhattan. After undergrad, I moved to Seattle, the other side of the country. I miss home.

I feel you. I just moved to NYC from college in savannah GA. when i left i was kinda ready to go and excited about big city life. i, like you, sit in front of a computer and surf the web all day at work, not talking to anyone. but what i do a lot lately is just grieve the loss of that time in my life. me and 2 of my best friends used to pay 350/mo to rent a whole house (a beautiful victorian house with a lot of character at that). i could walk to my favorite coffee shop and bar in under 5 minutes. my only obligation outside of class was peddicab (bicycle taxi). all i did was make art, get drunk with my best friends and occasionally take a girl home with me. why did that have to stop?

I graduated a year ago, and have been off-and-on employed with odd jobs since. The economy sucks, and even when I was making decent money, what was the point of having money when you don’t have time or friends to spend it with? I’m unemployed again and as much as I need the money, working as a slave for a fortune 500 company just isn’t worth it. I really, really miss college and seeing my younger friends excited for graduation makes me appalled. If I could go back, I’d be a fifth or sixth year senior just to savor it a little longer.

Disagree. It’s all about feeling good. However you achieve that. What is right? What is an accomplishment? These are just judgments of society, taught by your parents.

Having a sex buddy is a joke when you can have one for every night of the week. I dump sex buddies when they stop making me feel awesome. That’s the only way I can describe it. Who cares. Sex is just an action, kind of like beer pong. Beer pong is sweet and never clings or asks for anything in return. Superior.

Friends only come and go if you don’t offer them enough to keep them around. If you have a gorgeous outlook on life that makes everyone around you light up, you’d better be damn sure that your friends will be texting you no matter how far across the globe you may be.

I appreciate your comments very much. But I feel that if you lived life from my perspective, you might have a lot more fun..
